40 Days of Cards - Day 7 - Hi Banners

This is my first chance to use the Banner Blast stamp set (and punch!) that is available FREE with any $50 purchase through Sale-A-Bration and I couldn't be more in love.

I made another window card because I wanted to drape my banner across it with the silver ribbon from the Spring Mini Catalog.

I also used my white Signo Pen to dot around the window sheet so it looks like the dots are "floating". :)

MDS blog hop and another card tomorrow so be sure to come back!

40 Days of Cards - Day 6 - Happy Big Day Card

I cannot love the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper (FREE with a $50 purchase) more than I do, especially this pattern. Love the colors! It looks great on silver cardstock with a little Sizzix embossing action going on.

The black and silver flowers are heat embossed, the Coastal Cabana flowers are not. I just layered some small circles for the center of the flowers and added a jewel to the center.

Get Well Soon Card

I love the Fresh Vintage stamp set - FREE Sale-a-Bration item #125115 (wood) or #125117 (clear). The large flower image just gets me every single time. I want to use it on EVERYTHING!

Tonight I used it on a Melon Mambo card with my newest love - the Cork sheets! And did you see? I sewed on it with my machine! So not only do I sew on paper AND fabric - I sew on cork! :)

To get the scallops on the cork I cut it out of the clear scalloped square Sizzix die, then punched the large holes in the scallops with the bigger hole of my Crop-A-Dile. All of the supplies used to make this card are listed below! And remember - each order will get you an entry to be the Hostess for the Day and THREE free Sale-a-Bration sets - including the Fresh Vintage stamp set used on this card!

My next post today is going to be a digital freebie so if you love that sort of thing, come back and visit the blog again soon! :)

So, Maybe I Do Sew!

I've been asked so often if I sew. My reply, "Only on paper." My mother was the fabric sewer. She made most of my clothes and could fix just about anything with her machine. But that's my mom. Not me. It's like cooking to me - I have no interest in sewing on fabric what-so-ever.

When Stampin' Up! came out with fabric, it should be no surprise that it didn't interest me in the least. I like paper so much more. It's firm, not flimsy. Have you ever tried to make a card or a scrapbook page out of fabric? I don't think so.

But then I went to the grocery and they had a calendar on super-clearance that would be perfect for me to carry around with my events inside. Too bad the cover was capital U - G - L - Y. Yes, I could have covered it with paper. But wouldn't that be too easy? I'm not really a fan of easy. So I got the FREE Flirtatious Designer Fabric (Sale-A-Bration item #127711) from the Sale-a-Bration book and sewed it over the cover of the book. Did you hear that? I sewed it! And I lived! And I loved it - a lot.

So now, thanks to Sale-A-Bration I'm a sewer of fabric. Look out - they may have created a monster!

Let's get this Sale-a-bration PARTY started!!!!!

Welcome to my first Super-Saturday-Sale-a-bration Celebration Event! I was SO excited that I woke up at 7:00 -- on a Saturday! :) So why not get this party started an hour early? Whooooo Hoooooo!!!

Today I'm going to post every hour from 9am - 9pm (and maybe some posts in between!) with Sale-a-bration items, giveaways, prizes, sales, and so much more! Just when you thought Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration couldn't get any better, right?

The first post is a card I did for a workshop a few weeks ago. My hostess already had the Build A Bird punch and wanted to make a card using the Language of Friendship set that is NOW available as a FREE Sale-a-Bration item (Free when you spend $50 or more before tax/shipping). It's Sale-a-bration item # is 127721 (wood) and 127722 (clear). It's hard to see in the photo but the woodgrain stamp was applied to the background, THEN I ran the front of the card through the Stripes embossing folder to give it a little bit of depth. Watch for another post (very!) soon with more details on some of the deals happening today here on the blog! I'm also going to be posting the details on the top right-hand side of the blog for quick reference.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot! Leave a comment on ANY post made today to get an entry into a drawing for a ribbon envelope! What's a ribbon envelope, you ask? It's an envelope stuffed with various lengths of current and retired Stampin' Up! ribbon! Only one comment per post, please.
