Scrapbook Sunday - Valentine's Dance

Last night my husband and I went to the annual Valentine's dance at our church. I was asked to take photos for all of the couples attending. Now, I'm not big on getting in front of the camera and Chad is not a fan of getting his picture taken either. But, I had a little inspiration from my blog hop buddy, Joanna Bohanon to make a page with me in it for a change. So we did it. Got our pictures taken, and I actually scrapbooked them!

Of course, I used My Digital Studio and the Twitterpated kit that I absolutely LOVE! It's so perfect for Valentine pages.

I don't think I've announced it on the blog yet, but My Digital Studio now has a 30-day FREE TRIAL! I was waiting to mention it, because I wanted to let you all know about a new My Digital Studio club I'm starting in March. It will be the second Tuesday of each month for 6 months. There will be 6 members who will each be hostess for one month - $25 minimum order each month whether or not you are able to attend that night. I will have a television set up with MDS projected on it and will walk you through how to create 3 projects. A card, a scrapbook page, and a various project will be made each month and you will be given a CD at the end of each month with those projects on it for you to load into your MDS at home and pop in your own pictures and text. Scrapbook Sunday - Happy Birthday, Audrey!

My sweet Audrey turned 9 yesterday, so I wanted to digitally scrapbook a page celebrating that! This is a fun, quick little page made with Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio software.

AND I'm so excited! They announced at Leadership this weekend that they'll be offering a 3-month trial of the software starting next month. How fun is that?

Sorry this is a quick post tonight, we had her birthday party today and I'm completely exhausted and have to get ready for school tomorrow.

Scrapbook Sunday - Project Life (MDS Style!)

Have you heard the buzz about Project Life by Becky Higgins? It's just matching pieces and parts that you put together to create pages that document a whole year of your life. I wanted to do something similar this year (I usually always start a project like this in January - then it fizzles by February) But this year I'm NOT GOING TO LET IT FIZZLE! Did you hear me yell that? :)

So I'm going to do a Project Life style album in My Digital Studio. I'm not going to get all crazy about it - if I don't take a picture on a few days, that's OK. But hopefully I'll have *something* to include on a page each week. We definitely do enough stuff in this family!

So with that, I'm going to take my leave for blogging today. The girls are out playing in the snow while I'm trying to get all toasty here in the house (I hate the cold!) and my work-in-progress novel is calling me from the dining room to write, write, write! January 8 - Scrapbook Sunday

I had such high hopes for this Scrapbook Sunday. The last crop I went to, I had started this page but never finished it. So last night I thought - perfect! I'll finish the page and use it for today's blog post. That way the page will be finished, and I'll have a page to post! Many of my scrapbooking buddies had spent all day scrapbooking and I wasn't able to go, so I figured I could get a little cropping in that way.

As the family sat down to watch "Cars 2", I got out the stamps, my white Signo and Basic Black Stampin' Write marker and went to work. And I loved how it turned out! I set it down on the floor beside me, and watched the rest of the movie. But then...

I spilled a cup of Pepsi on it. ALL over it. See the dirty looking streaks on the Tempting Turquoise? UGH. Another plus in the digital scrapbooking column (unless you spill the Pepsi on your computer, which I also did). So I'll have to re-do at least the Tempting Turquoise part. I had hand drawn all of the white scallops and colored them in with the white Signo pen, so it's going to take me a while to re-do it. But I'm not doing it today! Today's blog post will just have to be streaked with Pepsi. And I learned a lesson too! Never put a layout on the floor. :)

Happy 2012! - It's Scrapbook Sunday!

Yay for 2012!

My resolution is to stay on track with this blog - whoooo hoooo for that! And to do that, I've decided to schedule events for each day on the blog to keep me on track easier.

MONDAYS - I don't know about you, but Monday means I have to go back to work. And while I absolutely love my job, I still get the Monday blues. And since blue is my favorite color - Monday will be some type of Stampin' Up! project with blue in it.

TUESDAYS - Being Catholic, we have Fat Tuesday right before Lent starts. Well, at Create Something Everyday I'm making every Tuesday FLAT Tuesday! I love doing flat projects (no layers, no embellishments) I just don't do them very often so this will be a good challenge for me!

WEDNESDAY - I *heart* white. So every Wednesday will be White Wednesday. Each project posted on Wednesdays will be a majority of white. I can't wait!

THURSDAY - Triple Play day! I'm going to pick a technique or design idea each Thursday and put three different spins on it.

FRIDAY - Friday is our My Digital Studio Blog Hop day with various themes picked by one of our 12 blog hoppers.

SATURDAY - Is simple day! I love simple, classy looking projects so each project posted on Saturdays will be simple enough to create in less than ten minutes.

SUNDAY - Sunday is SCRAPBOOK DAY! Be it paper, be it digital - all of Sunday's posts will be a scrapbook page.

If you've ever forgotten the schedule and want to be reminded - I've listed it on the right-hand column. So with today being Sunday and all, that means it's time to share a scrapbook page with you! For twelve years now I've been a paper scrapbooker. But I've been finding myself using My Digital Studio more and more to make my pages. I just love it. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to give up my paper for good - and that's OK. But for today - it's digital!

I decided to be kind of proactive and start on our Christmas photos from 2011. I did this page of the girls making Christmas cookies with their Grandma Jill this year. I have such a hard time using "traditional" Christmas colors. I'm not a huge fan of red and green together, but I love using non-traditional colors for Christmas so that's the route I went.
