White Wednesday - Happy Birthday Card

Well, I couldn't do a flat card on Flat Tuesday after all. When I got to school in the morning I realized I hadn't finished putting my grades in for the quarter yet, so I had until midnight to do that. I figured I'd just do my flat card today.

So I get home from school today and I go straight to the scrap room. I do a flat card. And I hate it. Yuck! So I do another flat card. And guess what? I hate that one too! Blech! As much as I LOVE flat cards, I could not make a decent looking one today. So I decided to work on my White Wednesday card instead.

HA! This is how it turned out! It's BLUE!!!! Sure, there are smidges of white in there but for the most part, this is NOT a white card for White Wednesday. Oooops! :)

But...I love how it turned out. So out of the 3 cards I made, I like one well enough to post. Better than none I guess!

The Monday Blues - *{love}* Card

It's that time of the week again! Time to head back to work after the weekend. Well, unless you're like me and work at a school where we have the day off to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King! The girls let me sleep in until 8am this morning, and I got lots of stuff done so today wasn't too very blue for me.

Have I told you how much I *love* the color gray? That's almost the only color I wear. I'm so boring! But lately I've been using it a TON on my cards. Lately, I'm loving it more than black! And Basic Gray looks so very pretty with the Pool Party cardstock I pulled out to do a blue card with today. And I used a wheel! I love, love, LOVE Stampin' Up!'s wheels. They're so fun to use and just add a little "extra" to a card when you need a little extra.

January 2 - The Monday Blues

I'm back to work...the kids are back to school...you guessed it - I've got the Monday blues. But on the blog that means I get to post a blue card and that makes me smile!

Only two more days until the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini comes out. So I thought I'd sneak a few little sneak peek items onto this card for you. Can you spot them?

Now, Island Indigo has to be one of my favorite SU! colors ever. I'll be so sad when its two years is up and it retires. But for now - I'm going to use it like crazy!

Now if you can tell, when I cut the white border and adhered it to the card I decided to use it as a kind of pocket and tuck the petals for my flower inside. I curled the petals around a pen and tucked a Dimensional under each one to give them some POP. And yes, I even whipped out my sewing machine!
