September 11 - Thanks Mini Paper Bag

I *love* little gifty things!

When I saw these little Mini Lunch Sacks in the Holiday Mini Catalog I fell in love. And I was so surprised when I got them this week - they are so THICK and such good quality! I was actually expecting a thin mini paper bag, kind of like what you get in a pack of 100 from the grocery store - but Oh No! The quality on these is SO nice! And you get 10 in a pack so I'm really excited about decorating the rest.

And if you need a super-quick gift idea, this is the perfect project - completion time is only about 5-10 minutes!

July 23 - My Digital Studio Hybrid Video Tutorial

I've been wanting to make video tutorials for over a year now, but just never had the time. So one of my goals while off work this summer was to get the job done! For my first online tutorial I thought I would show how to add a little "digital hybrid" to your photos using My Digital Studio elements in Adobe Photoshop (the would also work in almost any other photo editor you may have)

Enjoy the video and let me know if there are any other things you'd like to know in My Digital Studio and I can make a video to share of it. I can tell that making these videos is going to get very addicting very fast!

If you would like to purchase your own copy of My Digital Studio or any of the elements included with the software just visit http://www.hollystamps.com and click the Shop Online link in the top menu, then choose the digital category. You will not be sorry you did. My Digital Studio = lots of creative goodness (even if you're not so good on the computer)!

June 7 - Serene Page

It has been SUCH a long time since my last blog post! This first year of teaching/working at school has been amazing and I'm both sad and extremely happy to have a summer vacation that started TODAY! The good news is that I have 3 entire months to create new goodies to post and as of this weekend I'm already ahead of the game!

I got the new Stampin' Up! catalog late last week and HOLY CANOLY I am in love with so many things! My poor wish list will need an entire notebook. I have some NEW items from it that I was able to pre-order and I have been having fun with them all weekend! Can't wait to show you some of the things I've created when the new catty goes into effect on July 1.

As for today's post I created this page with quite a few Stampin' Up! goodies. The Trio Flower punch is my absolute FAVORITE (it makes the little flowers) and it is retiring this month, so I'm a little sad, but they do have new small punches that are a good replacement. But if you love the trio flowers as much as I do be sure to get your order in before the end of June! You can see all of the retiring products on my online store here. Have a fantastic Monday and see you back here tomorrow for another project!

February 21 - Cousins Page

I absolutely LOVE the Simply Scrappin' kits from Stampin' Up!, especially the Happy Day kit. The colors are so FUN and you know me and flowers - mmmmm, mmmmmm! :)

If you want to do quick and easy pages then a Simply Scrappin' kit is definitely the way to go, and at only $19.95 they are a great deal too.

Been quite sick so I have to get to bed (and hopefully the doctor in the morning) but I just wanted to share this quick layout with you before Sunday has come and gone.

Hope you had a fantastic weekend and that your week ahead is wonderful too!

February 20 - Flower Card

We made this card at card night Thursday and I loved it so much that I'm going to use it for the workshops I have in Feb. & March. It is an odd size, but fits just fine in an A2 envelope!

I used the Petal Pizazz stamp set (one of my favorites!) and the new large flower punch in the Occassions mini catalog. I LOVE not having to cut elements out by hand! The background was heat embossed with Irredecent Ice embossing powder on kraft cardstock.

My March calender is filling up quickly but if you'd like to book a workshop please call or email me at holly@hollystamps.com and I will get back to you with all of the information! It's a fantastic way to earn a LOT of free Stampin' Up! goodies and have fun with your friends in the process!

February 11 - February Card Night

February Card Night will be on Thursday, February 18th at my house. Cost is $8 or a $25 Stampin' Up! order. All orders placed the night of card night come with a goodie bag of hostess benefits! We will make 6 cards (this card will be one of them) and snacks and refreshments will be provided.

We all really have a fantastic time so if you're able to I hope you'll consider joining us! From now on I will have to cap the attendance at 12 people so be sure to get your RSVP in to me as soon as possible - it is already filling up quickly. To RSVP just email, call me or post a comment on this post and I will get you on the list. Thanks!

February 6 - Hello Butterflies Card

I was going through some of my scrapbook paper tonight while I cleaned my scrap room and came across a piece that I loved. Mostly I loved the circles and the colors and I wanted to try to make my own. All it took was my 1" circle punch and the following colors of cardstock: Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Gable Green, Only Orange and Orchid Opulence and Kraft for the butterflies. The Hello stamp is from the Tiny Tags set in the new Occasions mini catalog as well as the Beautiful Wings Embosslet die. Oh, and my sewing machine - what would I do without the zig zag stitch? :) It took a little longer to make than I had anticipated but I am happy with how it turned out. Hope you're having a great snowy (well at least it is here!) weekend!

If you're on Facebook be sure to become a fan of the Holly Stamps page! :)

My Digital Studio Page - Week 3

Oh no! I'm ashamed to admit that it happened, I fell behind with my digital family album ALREADY! After only 2 weeks - Yikes! :) But I'm not giving up yet and I'm a little more caught up tonight since I managed to get my week 3 page finished. And now that I'm thinking about it - I only have 49 pages to go (UGH!). ha ha!

Hope you are having a fantastic week - enjoy it!

January 30 - Love Scrapbook Page

This is a 12x12 page made with quite a few of the new items in the Occasions Mini catalog. I used the "With All My Heart" stamp set with the large flower punch and the Top Note Sizzix die for the title. And yes, I did a LOT of sewing. Too bad I can't sew fabric but I LOVE sewing on paper! :)

Don't forget Sale-A-Bration is still going on - spend only $50 and choose a completely FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure! If you want more information on it be sure to let me know or you can shop online at http://hollyvandyne.stampinup.net/.

I'll be having a contest this week to celebrate my new Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Holly-Stamps so be sure to keep your eye out for that and if you haven't signed up to be a fan on Facebook yet, follow the link and sign up!

January 27 - Thank You Card

Tonight I got my order of the new Stampin' Up! clear blocks and clear stamps and let me tell you - I am IN LOVE. Now let me explain that I am SO not a fan of clear stamps in general. They just don't stamp clear for me - and me being the anal person I am, I need a clear image. Which is why I love rubber so much. When I found out Stampin' Up! was going to have clear stamps as well now I was definitely one of the people rolling my eyes.

But then I found out... the new clear stamps ARE rubber! YIPPEE YAY HOOEY! :) I am now absolutely hooked. I got the set with all of the clear blocks and I can't believe how nice they all are. The are beveled and light-weight which is wonderful! And of course I had to try them out tonight so here is the finished result. The background is embossed with a Stampin' Up! embossing folder for the Sizzix then sewed together.

Hope you have a great Thursday! :)

January 25 - Get Well Soon Card

A friend of mine is under the weather so I thought I would make something to send her tomorrow (although she will probably be all better by the time this card arrives - well, I hope she will anyway!)

I love the new Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder (background) and Beautiful Wings embosslit for the Sizzix and used them both on this card. The butterfly is actually not the lavendar that the background is, the butterfly is cut and embossed from brushed silver cardstock.

Complete supply list:
Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Almost Amethyst and Brushed Silver cardstock
Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (Occasions Mini)
Beautiful Wings Embosslit (Occasions Mini)
Small Silver Brads
Scalloped Square Punch
Chat Room Rubons (Occasions Mini)

Have a fantastic Tuesday tomorrow and hope you get something crafty done! :)

January 23 - *heart* U Page

I was having scrapbooking withdrawal again this weekend so I had fun creating this page. I still am having a hard time believing that my sweet little girl turned 7 years old this week. Where does the time go?

This is just a quick fun 12x12 page using the Sweet Pea paper pack from the Occasions Mini, along with Chocolate Chip epoxy brads, and the rubons also from the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! :)

January 18 - Transforming a Digital Card

My goal today is to work on my Holly Stamps site - there are still a few pages I have yet to create there. First being the "About Holly" page. I felt I needed some kind of picture of me on it but I am SO not a fan of photos of myself. So I thought I would try to jazz one up with My Digital Studio!

I just opened the program and started out with a 6x6 card pre-designed template. Then I changed some colors, added my photo and added a few more elements like the stamps on the sides and the ribbon under the stitching. Took me only about 10 minutes to make and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!

I love the fact that they have all of these fabulous pre-designed templates for cards, scrapbook pages, etc. that you can just use or change to your hearts content. Fun stuff! :) I'm off to add it to the website!

January 17 - You Rock Card

This card uses the "Friends Rock" stamp set. I actually got this set to use when grading art papers but wanted to try it out on a card and love it! It's so fun and funky for anyone who is also fun and funky!

I used the Thoroughly Modern designer series paper for the card which I love too - the colors are so fun and I'm a polka dot addict. :)

The "You Rock" card is tucked into the pocket made with the patterned papers.

Hope you're having a great weekend! I have the day off tomorrow and I'm VERY happy about that.

January 16 - *heart* U

These are the new little notecards from the Occasions mini. I've had them for about a month now and haven't played with them until now but WOW I love them!!!

I'm embarrassed to say that I've also had the "Forest Friends" stamp set for about half a year now and have also never used it so today was the day - *love* the tree in that set.

I have a husband and a daughter with colds this weekend (always happens on a 3-day weekend) so I'll be sneaking up to my little room as much as I can! Hope you have a fantastic Saturday!

January 15 - Wonderful Mother Card

This was the 6th and final card we made last evening during the January card night. Thanks to all of you who made it over to the house and I hope you all had as much fun as I did! Those who couldn't make it, hopefully you can join us next month!

This card we used the Vintage Labels stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration promotion yet again but this time I made them into flowers. The centers are punched with the 1" circle punch and the flowers stamped inside are from the Greenhouse Gardens stamp set. The "Wonderful Mother" stamp is from the Well Scripted set in the new Occasions mini.

Hope you have a great weekend - it's a 3-day weekend for me and I am VERY excited about that.

January 13 - 2010 Album Week 2

Just a short post tonight - got my second week page done in my yearly digital album. Trying to keep ahead, I'm afraid if I fall behind on it I won't finish it.

I LOVE how quick and easy these pages are to make and I feel like I'm actually getting something accomplished with my scrapbooking even though I'm busy.

YAY for feeling productive!
Card night is tomorrow night so I may not be able to post anything tomorrow but I'll be back on Friday or Saturday. Enjoy your weekend! :)

January 11 - Congratulations Card

I had a somewhat productive day today, at least I got Card #5 done for card night on Thursday! It has all but filled up this month so if you're still on the fence about coming better let me know quickly. I tried to make a classy card with black, white and brushed silver cardstock. It uses 3 of the new stamp sets from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Well Scripted, Tiny Tags and Vintage Vogue. The the wheel at the bottom is heat embossed with white embossing powder. If the petals on the flower look 3d its because they are, I curled them upwards to give a little more dimension to the card. Then the middle has one of the new epoxy brads in the center.

Wedding season will be here before we know it (I hope so anyway!) so tuck this one away and use it for the next wedding you attend!

Thursday night is almost here and I'm so excited - I absolutely LOVE card nights! If you're attending I will see you there! :)

January 9 - Goodie Jars

Oh how I love little jars! I fell in love with these little spice jars at Kroger tonight and knew I had to get them to play with.

I decided to decorate them for a good friend who just moved into a new house with her family and will soon be decorating her scrap room. Thought these might help her get started. :)

I used the Vintage Labels stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration promotion on these along with the new mini heart punch from the Occasions mini and some fun Stampin' Up! ribbon.

Hope you are having a fantastic creative weekend! Chad is working tomorrow so I will be crafting all day - so check back for another project posted tomorrow!

January 7 - Priority Note

This is the fourth card we'll be doing for card night next Thursday but it is actually a notecard instead of a fold out card. Gotta mix it up a little bit! There are 3 different sets used on this from the new Occasions Mini catalog and the new Sale-A-Bration promotion.

Can't post a whole lot about this one tonight - the muscles in my arms are cramping up big time but if you have any questions on any of it just send me an email or leave a comment and I will get back to you. :) Have a fantastic Friday tomorrow!

January 5 - Thanks Card

GUESS WHAT!
Sale-A-Bration starts TODAY! Every $50 you spend with Stampin' Up! gets you a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. This is a fantastic time to place an order (get freebies!), attend my January Card night (get even more freebies!) or host a workshop (get a TON of freebies!)

This is a quick drive-by-post card today. I went to a Stampin' Up! card party of my friend Joan's tonight and had a blast! We made the CUTEST projects, the company was great and it was SO great to let Joan do the hostessing. What a fun night.

This is a card I did a few months ago that is pretty simple and uses the Very Vanilla Hodgepodge kit.

Have a fantastic day!

January 1 - Digital 52 Week Album, Week 1

It's the first day of 2010! I have a LOT of things I want to start doing (or do better!) this year and just one of those is scrapbook better. Last year things got so busy and I have not done a yearly family album since 2001. Yes, 2001. Please stop laughing now.

Way back then digital scrapbooking didn't exist yet and I didn't have any children. Now I have two kids who I make traditionally scrapbooked albums for. But since I love digital scrapbooking also I have been struggling to figure out where to fit it in. I figured it out!

This is the first page in my 2010 family album. I'm going to do a page each week with things we do and once I am done the album will have 52 pages. The easiest (and funnest!) way I've found to do this is with Stampin' Up!'s new My Digital Studio. At the end of 2010 I'll just be able to get it printed out and I'm so excited to see the final project. I won't print out step by step instructions, it would take me all night, but if you have any questions AT ALL about My Digital Studio just send me an email at holly.vandyne@gmail.com and I would be happy to help you out! I did get my My Digital Studio certification earlier this year and LOVE using the program.

Until tomorrow - have a fantastic new year!
