White Wednesday - Congratulations Card

...and I'm back to blogging. It's been a while, I know. Lots has happened. Car accident, flu bug, dog surgery, I could go on and on but I'll spare you the details. Let's just say I am SO glad today is the last day of February.

And today is White Wednesday!
Do you know what I loved most about Stampin' Up!'s regional convention last week? It made me think of some older products and techniques that I had forgotten about! Like Dazzling Diamonds! There were quite a few swap cards I'd gotten that used it and made me fall in love with it all over again.

So this is it. The White Wednesday card slathered with Dazzling Diamonds (and a smidge of Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz). *love*
To order any of the products used, just click the links below! And don't forget - if you place an order of ANY amount through my online store today, I will send you this card as a "thank you!".

See you tomorrow and have a wonderful LEAP DAY! :)

White Wednesday - Crazy Embossing

Sometimes (OK, more than sometimes...) I get these ideas that pop into my head. Today's technique popped in there while I was watching "Tangled" with my girls. Now sometimes the ideas I have don't turn out anything close to how I imagined they would look. But tonight, well I was pleasantly surprised to find out it worked out so much better than I imagined it would!

First, find a stamp that has a lot of surface space and not a lot of detail. The Medallion stamp worked great for this, but I can imagine flowers, etc. too.

After you stamp your card with Versamark ink, lay it down in your embossing tray. Take your first color of embossing powder and pour it in spots, then without tapping the first color off add another color in the same way. Then do it again with another color. Fill in the other empty areas until you have the whole stamped image covered THEN tap off your powder. BEWARE - it will mix. And that's up to you what you want to do with it. You could save the mixed powder to use at a different time, or just pitch it. I'll save mine - you never know what it will look like on another project.

I have a friend with a Birthday this weekend that I was planning to send this to - I hope she likes it! ;)

White Wednesday - Love You Card

Well, my attempt at White Wednesday this week turned out SO much whiter than last week's card that turned out blue.

I LOVE Stampin' Up!'s silver embossing powder, and I especially love how it looks on white cardstock. It's so shiny and beautiful.

This card uses one of the new Sale-a-bration stamp sets. What's Sale-a-bration you say? It's two months out of the year where every $50 you spend in Stampin' Up! merchandise, you receive a FREE item. Want to see all of the amazing items you can get for Sale-a-bration this year? Just click here to see the catalog online. White Wednesday - Happy Birthday Card

Well, I couldn't do a flat card on Flat Tuesday after all. When I got to school in the morning I realized I hadn't finished putting my grades in for the quarter yet, so I had until midnight to do that. I figured I'd just do my flat card today.

So I get home from school today and I go straight to the scrap room. I do a flat card. And I hate it. Yuck! So I do another flat card. And guess what? I hate that one too! Blech! As much as I LOVE flat cards, I could not make a decent looking one today. So I decided to work on my White Wednesday card instead.

HA! This is how it turned out! It's BLUE!!!! Sure, there are smidges of white in there but for the most part, this is NOT a white card for White Wednesday. Oooops! :)

But...I love how it turned out. So out of the 3 cards I made, I like one well enough to post. Better than none I guess!

Are you asking where I got that fantastic swirly little frame stamp? In a few days you will wonder no more - it's a Sale-A-Bration set that will be available next week when Sale-A-Bration starts! I'm so excited - it's my favorite time of the year for Stampin' Up! Who doesn't love getting free stamp sets (and other goodies!)? I know I do! Watch the blog in the next few days for more Sneak Peeks!

January 11 - White Wednesday

Another quick post tonight for White Wednesday. Still trying to get better but can't get into the Dr. until February. FEBRUARY! Ugh.

I'm LOVING the challenge of coming up with white cards! This one uses vellum for the flowers, stamped and embossed with white embossing powder. I also love the new big pearls in the new mini catalog. They're so fun.

This is a super-simple card and could be used for many different occasions, depending on the sentiment you stamp on it.

Hope you had a fantastic White Wednesday!
