Simple Saturday - Thinking of You

Well, I haven't done a Simple Saturday in quite a while. I think it's long overdue, don't you?

This is one of my favorite cards as of late. I'm a huge fan of simple cards, especially ones that lave lots of white on them. The Whisper White cardstock really makes the Island Indigo and the Gumball Green ink pop, doesn't it?

This card uses the Madison Avenue stamp set (FREE with a $50 purchase!) Both white squares are popped up with dimensionals, and the polka dot embossed square has it's corners rounded. Add a little Sassy Salutation at the top and a large rhinestone in the middle of the flower and it's finished!

Won't take you more than five minutes. Sometimes aren't those the best cards? :) Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Simple Saturday - Thanks in Gray & Black

It's Simple Saturday and I was so inspired when I got home from a wonderful Open House put on by my downline demonstrator, Connie. We made the 3 cutest cards! And when I got home I had the mojo to head to the scrap room and make today's card (and she'll be happy to know that Whitney used her white pen!).

Now don't be fooled. When I ordered the Blossom Builder kit from the new Occasions Mini catalog, it wasn't for the beautiful textured flowers. It was for the PINK BLING! (yay!)

Now, this card isn't completely over-the-top simple, but it's simple enough. Build some flowers, make your tag, then sew on some satin ribbon.

When designing cards, scrapbook pages, etc. don't forget the rule of threes. Three is always more pleasing to the eye than three or four. Try it and see! :)

Simple Saturday - Hello Hearts

What a day! My oldest turned 9 today and woke us up at the crack of dawn. Then we had Basketball games, and other Basketball games where the Birthday girl donned her cheerleading uniform. A busy Saturday is always a great day to do a simple card for the blog!

Luckily I seem to have gotten over my simple creative block that I suffered from earlier this year. At first, I thought this card may have been a little too simple. But that's what I love about it! Hope you love its simpleness as much as I do!

PS - the "You" comes from the "Thank You Kindly" set, I just inked the "You" and not the other part that I didn't want to use.

Have a great weekend!

Simple Saturday - Thanks Flowers

It's Simple Saturday!

Sometimes I struggle more with the simple cards. Like this one. I went through SIX different versions of this card before I got one I like enough to post here, and I'm still not 100% sure that I love it. :)

I bought the Button Buddies set *just* for this flower vase stamp, I love it so much, but haven't actually USED it yet (silly girl!). But it's perfect for the new Twitterpated Bitty Buttons in the Occassions Mini. I stamped my images first, ran it through the Big Shot with the embossing folder, then added my buttons and the rhinestones in the center of them. DONE! Simple (yeah, right). ;)

January 7 - Simple Saturday

Happy Simple Saturday!

I love simple cards. I also love big, fancy-schmancy cards but as much as I try to make them - that's just not my style. Once my husband called me "mashed potatoes with no gravy." He knows me well. :)

For today's project I decided to use the "Turtle & Co." set which is also this year's Ronald McDonald Charity set. That means that every set Stampin' Up! sells, they donate $3 of that set to the Ronald McDonald Charities. It also means that this set won't carry over to the next catalog, so if you're on the fence about it you've only got about 6 more months to decide. :)

I love these outlined sets so much because I LOVE mixing patterned paper with the stamps. To make the frog I stamped it once on the Whisper White cardstock, then stamped the frog again on the patterned paper and cut out the body (everything except for the eyes). Then just adhere it over your original stamped image. I also did it with the cone part of the hat, and the heart in the thought bubble. It took a few minutes to cut out the toes of the frog, but cutting things soothes me and I love doing it. Just takes a little bit of patience.

I'm running out of time this morning and don't have time to do the individual product links, but all items used (and that great stamp set!) can be found in my online store. I will try to add them later tonight.

Have a very great Simple Saturday and see you tomorrow for Scrapbook Sunday!
